Watch DTW Founder Steve Sirico in this master class as he takes you through three jazz-funk combos for beginner, intermediate and advanced. Each combo is based on using some fun old school funk moves but has elements of technique that is age and level appropriate.
Contemporary dance is a vast genre, rich with a variety of styles and movement profiles. Class will explore how the elements of space and differing dynamics can enhance and alter a dancer's execution and stylization of movement to broaden their depth and scope of nuanced interpretation.

It is difficult to attract all types of students into Ballet classes, typically we are told that the movement is too slow or that they just want to do Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary or any other type of dance styles. In this class I will give you some ideas of different, fun, variations and costuming that will help your students fall in love with Ballet or at the very least appreciate how important the technique is for every style of Dance.
This is a fiery, uptempo, Latin tap which emphasizes the syncopation of Latin music that are apparent in the use of snaps, claps, and short verbalization. This style lends itself to audience appeal with its ear pleasing musicality, eye catching flare, and naturally infused attitude that give Latin that spicy kick.
Class will explore beginner-advanced improvisation and how to make it accessible to a wide variety of students and levels. Fundamental concepts will include: What is an improvisational score? Denise Wall presents a center floor exercise first to help the teachers to get their dancers to work through their feet. Also will explore how to get your dancers to use all 4 dimensions of their legs in their plie’ so they will move out from themselves.
This movement based session pinpoints how to use the body’s anatomy in order to increase a dancer’s technical ability while at the same time reducing injuries. We tackle the concepts of exhaustion and overuse injuries, while also breaking down how to take something as complex as the anatomy and simplify it in order to connect to any age group and technique level.
