Build your brain strength by eating Avocado, Nuts and Olives.

Celebrity Secret Ingredients

The following food ingredients are hot topics in Hollywood. Those who need to look and feel their best do not go a day without these foods in their diet. A great way to get them all at once is by making a this Celebrity Health Shake. Add berries and other favorite fruits to all these foods below to combine the benefits of these power house healers.

Coconut - A power food with a long list of health benefits.

Coconut meat is full of Fiber, Manganese, Copper and Potassium.

Coconut Milk is a must in your health shake and is full of Vitamins C, E and many B vitamins. Vitamins C and E help to boost the immune system, and B vitamins are responsible for providing energy to the cells. Coconut milk is also rich in magnesium, potassium, phosphorous and iron. Coconut water hydrates our bodies even better than ordinary drinking water. Because of this it is the latest sports drink and celebrity beverage. Fun fact: during the Pacific War, coconut water was used in IVs and plasma transfusions, to save many lives. Turns out that the contents of natural coconut water are identical to that in human plasma, making it a kind of “universal donor”! It is still used that way in countries that have limited access to medical aid. Coconut water is rich in dietary fiber, enzymes, vitamin C, minerals (such as magnesium and potassium) and amino acids, making it useful for people trying to loose weight (by speeding up their metabolism and creating a feeling of fullness). By applying coconut water directly on your skin, you will keep it hydrated and balance its pH levels, leading to reduced acne, less visible signs of aging, stretch marks and cellulite. Even treats eczema. Drinking coconut water will also help boost your immune system and fight the symptoms of the common cold and flu; keep your cardiovascular health in top shape and aid the kidneys in filtering the toxins and thus reducing the risk of kidney stones. Cooking with Coconut Oil is a great way to get the benefits and is a much better replacement for Vegetable or Canola Oil. Coconut oil is a great moisturizer for skin, scalp and hair!

Spirulina - A specific form of blue-green algae, found in nature growing on the Hawaiian ocean floors and in the alkaline waters of lakes and ponds. They are natural foods that have existed since life began. Their nutritional content is broad and highly concentrated. Blue-green algae can help balance the flora in the gut, which aids digestion. Spirulina are rich in vitamins A, C, E and the B-complex vitamins, including vitamins B12 and B6. Since these vitamins are packaged in their natural form, they are in a highly usable state that makes them far superior to modern vitamin supplements. Spirulina aids the human body by boosting the immune system, providing amazing anti-inflammatory agents, antioxidants and vitamin A. It also helps to promote cellular health within the body, making cells strong and healthy. The protein in Spirulina is 85-95% digestible, one of the highest available. In fact, Spirulina is second only to a dried egg supplement with regards to usable protein, and higher than any of the common foods in the form in which they are usually purchased. Spirulina provides a reduction on long-term health problems if taken regularly. There is no other food that has a higher volume of beta carotene and has concentrated levels of beta carotene, 10 times more than carrots.

Chia Seeds - Chia seeds are popular for weight loss. They reduce food cravings by preventing some of the food that you eat from getting absorbed into your system. This blockage of calorie absorption makes them a great diet helper. They can also help your diet by making you feel full. This is because they absorb 10 times their weight in water, forming a bulky gel. They are also great for athletes because the "chia gel" can hydrate the body. When cooking with Chia they make everything more moist. There's evidence to suggest they can reduce blood pressure. They are the richest plant source of Omega-3 (the vital fats that protect against inflammation such as arthritis and heart disease. In fact, they contain more Omega-3 than salmon! Excellent for Diabetics as Chia seeds slow down how fast our bodies convert carbohydrates into simple sugars, studies indicate they can control blood sugar. They are easier to digest than flax seeds, and don't need to be ground up.

Greek Yogurt- During processing, Greek yogurt is strained several times, which removes some of the lactose, sugar and liquid whey. This gives the yogurt a thicker consistency and tangy flavor, compared to traditional yogurt. Geek yogurt is higher in protein. You need protein primarily to build lean muscle tissue, but protein also acts as a backup source of energy when carbohydrates and fat are not available. It boosts probiotics in your diet to improve your digestive health, keep the bacteria in your gut healthy and improve your immune system to keep you well. Make sure the Greek yogurt you choose has "live and active cultures" on the label.

Eating the wrong foods can damage, slow down and make your body feel tired. Try to avoid the following:

Foods That Damage Skin- white flour, processed sugar, corn syrup, fried foods, soda pop and even worse for your body diet soda. Corn fillers, hydrogenated oils.

Hydrate From Within

Water - Drink 8 glasses of water a day that is purified and preferably spring water. Add to your water cucumber, lemon, mint and ginger to help your water cleanse your body of toxins and keep you feeling full. Drink water cold if possible and avoid carbonation as this can cause cramping.

Tea - Teas heal the body and can be used not only as a tasty beverage but also for health. White tea has powerful anti-oxidants to help your body repair and stay healthy, Green tea can be used to improve bad breath as well as boost your immune system,Chamomile tea relieves cramping and muscle aches, Black tea can improve focus and help with headaches, Ginger tea can relieve gas and flatten your tummy. Roobios or red tea is filled with vitamin C and helps relieve stress.

Beware Starbucks Frappuccino's and ice blended coffee and tea drinks. These can have as many as ten teaspoons of sugar added for sweetening. Ask for no sweetener to be added (not sugar free) or only one pump instead of the usual five. Add your own sweetener Stevia, Agave Nectar or Honey.

Skin Basics For A Radiant Glow

Repair - Sleep is the most important beauty remedy. Be sure to get 8-10 hours of sleep if possible to repair your body. Sleep in light clothing and with a good quality pillow to avoid allergies. Make sure your pillow case is cleaned once a week. Satin pillow cases are good for those who sleep on their side or stomach as when your face rests on the pillow there can be pulling on the skin which can increase wrinkles and loss of elasticity. Wear long hair up in a soft fabric hair tie to avoid back acne. Hair collects toxins throughout the day and can cause breakouts when touching the skin.

Exfoliate - Before a big show be sure to remove dead skin from your body in the shower using a wash cloth and your favorite body wash. Remember only use a body puff or wash cloth once, then throw it in the hamper to be washed. Storing wet cloths in the shower will cause bacteria to build up and increase risk for rashes and bumps. Scrub your body in circular motions toward the heart to increase circulation. Hydrate your body while still moist from the shower with Coconut Oil. This is a powerful body moisturizer and creates a beautiful glow to the skin.

Remove any unwanted body hair after scrubbing skin in the shower. If shaving this will help you get a much closer shave because hair follicles stand up when stimulated. Shave in the direction hair grows not against to avoid ingrown hair bumps. Use a product called TEND SKIN to relieve bumps over night. Remember always remove unwanted hair the night before, never day of, a show or pool party as the moisture on your skin will create chaffing and bumps.

Avoid Damage - Do not suntan and always use sunscreen SPF 25 or more!! Tan lines are a big no no when performing! Never tan in a Tanning Booth as skin cancer is on the rise from these even in teens. Professionals use Lo real’s Sublime Self Tanner. This is a wonderful product and does not leave streaks.

Good looks mean clean healthy nails, teeth and hair!

Nails- should be clean and with clear polish. Scrape your nails across a white bar of soap to remove unwanted dirt under nails. This prevents colds as well.

Teeth - should be bright and clean as your smile is everything on stage. Floss regularly. Use baking soda or ground strawberries a few times a week to whiten teeth.

Shiny hair - can be enhanced by massaging scalp with Coconut Oil ten minutes before shampooing to remove dead skin and stimulate hair oils. Work oil down to the ends of hair.

Be Prepared

Pack in your tote bag the following: cotton swabs, wipes, tissue, scissors, tweezers, aspirin, safety pins, hair pins, hair spray, hair gel, nail polish remover, tums, body lotion, throat lozenge’s, extra tights, deodorant, mints, water, and healthy snacks.
