Self-help and Life Enhancement Tips for the Business Owner

We've all been there. You wake up in the morning and the dreaded day has finally arrived. The emotional buildup you've assigned to this day has been nothing short of intense. You lie there in bed, wishing there was some way you could magically erase the fact that you have to get up, get ready and go face what fate has assigned to you on this day...doing the thing that you've been wishing you didn't have to do! As you get ready and make your breakfast, get dressed and make yourself presentable, nothing you do to try and distract your very active imagination from thinking about doing what you have to do in just a few hours works. It's all you can think about. Nervous? You bet! Your heart is about to jump out of its casing and you feel as if you are going to break into a cold sweat.

All of a sudden, the phone rings. "Oh...my...God!!!!", you think! "This is JUST what the doctor ordered!" Something unexpected has come up that needs your attention. So what do you do? It seems as if the Universe has answered your call for a distraction. That old phrase, "Don't ask for what it is you want because you just might get it" finally comes into play here. So now you're at a fork in the road. Do you face the dreaded thing you have to do today but you really just don't feel like it at all? Or, do you opt for the issue that's just come up that serves as a distraction- type of excuse so that you don't have to deal with what you're really supposed to deal with...the initial thing you woke up dreading in the first place? Hmmm...decisions, decisions!

Does this scenario sound familiar to you? It does to many and believe you me, we've all had to face situations like this more times that we'd like to remember. But what do you do and how do you handle issues like this when they come up so that they really aren't issues at all? The key and the actual answer to the question I just posed lies within the question itself. Here's the question again. See if you can find the answer within the wording of the question itself; "What do you do and how do you handle issues like this when they come up so that they really aren't issues at all?"

Did you get it? If not, the answer has to do with the following words in the question, "so that they really aren't issues at all." The point is if you don't think or feel that the thing you have to face is the huge issue you've blown it up to be, it would be so much easier to face it, see it through and finish with it so that it is no longer an issue. Could it be that it's such a big issue because you've made it out to be so? Sometimes it's what we think about something that hasn't happened yet that makes it appear as if it's so much worse than it actually is. It's the emotional energy that you attach to an upcoming situation in the future that makes it seem as if it's something that it really might not actually be.

What do you do about the distraction? Let's call it what it truly is...a distraction. Deal with the distraction but don't use it as a tool to not have to deal with the major issue that you shouldn't avoid, but instead face head on.

The only way to deal with something is to take a deep breath, look at it right in the face, know that everything is going to be just fine, and see it through. After all, is it really a life or death situation? The sooner you just deal with it, the faster it's over. It's the anticipation and fear that you've allowed yourself to engage in way before the event actually occurs that can also prevent you from wanting to deal with the situation when it comes up.

So here are some important things to remember when you just don't feel like doing what it is you have to do;

1) Stop yourself from thinking negatively about the situation before it actually comes to pass
2) The same amount of negative thought energy you put into thinking about the issue could be spent thinking positively about the outcome of the very same event
3) Don't fear the future, the event is in your path for a reason
4) Believe in yourself and your ability. You are never given more than you can handle. You are more powerful than you often give yourself credit for
5) Just breathe. Everything will be fine. Take it one moment at a time
6) Think of how relieved you'll be when it's done. Just take the steps to get there
7) Don't think you can see the issue through? Think again!
8) What you believe is what you'll receive. See and feel that there will be a positive outcome. The choice is yours

We're only human. Sometimes we just don't feel like doing what we have to do. That's fine. But if something has come up that needs to get done, just get it done. Nothing more, but certainly nothing less. In these days of having little time to do a lot, just face the situation instead of putting it off. You'll save so much time in the process.

You've got the power to be the success in life you totally deserve to be. Don't hold yourself back. The road you are on is full of interesting twists and turns. Don't get stuck on any one twist or turn otherwise you stall your entire journey. Getting to where you need to be is what you should set your sites on. The bumps along the way are just that...bumps. Just keep going forward and have your eyes fixed on the prize. You're a winner...and don't you forget it!
