Self-help and Life Enhancement Tips for the Business Owner

Part One of a Monthly Series on Successful Goal Implementation

When it comes to the fine art of setting goals, successfully arriving at the finish line makes a difference that either has you walking away feeling great or...not so great. Goal realization is less about the finish line than it is actually running the race. It's the journey that counts because once you have your goal in mind, how you take the next set of steps makes a huge difference in ultimate success and realization. If you follow this simple process and keep focused on making each step along the way the best it can possibly be, then you'll find yourself in the company of a select few who have earned their place at the finish line.

The Easy 5-Step Journey to Attain Any Goal

1. State your goal
2. What will you do to realize your goal each and every day?
3. Feel what it feels like to already have achieved the results of your goal
4. Get out of the way and don't let self-doubt become a major player
5. Be patient and open to receive

Let's take a closer look at each of these steps;

1. Stating your goal
Briefly state what your goal happens to be. Many often find writing this down to be helpful.

2. What will you do to realize your goal each and every day?
Plan out a time-line on a calendar of what you'll get done when on the way to achieving your goal. What steps will you need to take to get your goal accomplished and what specific days and times will those particular steps be realized?

3. Feel what it feels like to already have achieved the results of your goal
Thinking is one of the most powerful tools you have to get anything done in your professional and personal lives. Science is now proving that if you can feel what it's like already having accomplished your goal even before you start it, you'll have a much better chance at arriving at the finish line. Good times to do this are right when you wake up in the morning and just before you fall asleep at night.

4. Get out of the way and don't let self-doubt become a major player
Once you've got your goal-setting wheels in motion, it's important to remember to stand out of the way and let the results be brought to you. The less your mind-chatter and self-doubt interferes with this, the better. Don't be your own worst enemy when it comes to achieving your goals.

5. Be patient and open to receive
Always make sure you're expecting your goal to be fully realized. Even though adjustments might have to be made along the way, think positive and check yourself to see if you're totally open to receive success once it occurs.

If you follow these five easy steps, you'll soon find that setting and realizing goals is so much easier than it might have seemed. Stay the course and you'll soon find that will be well worth the journey.
